Early Math Leadership Institute 2026 We are excited to announce the return of the Early Math Leadership Institute, taking place August 3–5, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan, with a remote site option at Marquette Alger RESA (August 3–4). This annual institute brings together Michigan education leaders to build a shared vision for high-quality early mathematics teaching and learning across pre-K through grade 5. This year’s theme, Crafting Coherence Over Time, will focus on systems-level approaches to strengthening instruction, building leadership capacity, and sustaining impactful math practices. ISDs are strongly encouraged to attend as teams, and we welcome expanded team participation this year. Registration is now open, and hotel space is limited, so we encourage early registration and lodging reservations. Learn more and register using the links below. | Secondary Math Roundtable at Watervliet High School MCTM invites secondary mathematics teachers to join a roundtable discussion and networking session on Saturday, March 14, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at Watervliet High School. This informal gathering is a chance to connect with colleagues, share questions and ideas, and support one another around the work of teaching secondary mathematics. There is no registration fee and no RSVP required. Come ready to talk, listen, and learn together. Questions or suggested topics can be shared in advance with Donya Mosher at donyamosher@gmail.com. | Foundations of Math for Leaders: Preview Event Educational leaders are invited to attend Foundations of Math for Leaders: A Preview and Partnership Opportunity, a one-hour virtual session designed for those looking to strengthen math outcomes across systems. This session will explore why students often struggle with mathematics, how deepening teachers’ math understanding supports more confident and relevant instruction, and what system-level supports are needed for effective implementation. The event will be held February 24, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 AM and is intended for district and ISD leaders, administrators, CTE and adult education leaders, and special education administrators. This event offers an opportunity to engage with a powerful film that explores how mathematics shapes opportunity and access, followed by time for reflection and conversation. GVSU Math in Action- Early Bird Pricing Ending Soon Math in Action presents lively and informative discussions of current issues in mathematics education while providing an opportunity for practicing Pre-K to 12 teachers, prospective teachers, curriculum directors, and college and university faculty to share ideas, concerns, and resources. The conference includes a keynote session and five, hour-long sessions with options for each grade range in each session. Choices to register and early-bird registration rates (until January 30):

This gathering creates space for leaders across roles and settings to come together to dialogue about mathematics education in Michigan, engage in shared learning, and connect around current questions, challenges, and opportunities in our work. This free, come-as-you-are event will include time for doing mathematics, examining pedagogy and resources, networking around participant-selected topics, and updates from mathematics education organizations across the state. All math leaders are welcome, including department chairs, coaches, consultants, administrators, ISD/RESA staff, and others supporting mathematics education. Questions?
